Concern: Urban schools need funding for instructional materials, staffing, technology, and facility upgrades.
Action: The Affiliate Assembly Executive Committee sent this concern back to the region for clarification. After rewording, the concern was presented to the Assembly and approved. The AASL Board responded with the creation of the Urban Schools Task Force charged with pulling together data and resources related to urban school libraries in order to recommend support strategies.
