Concern:
·We request more AASL Professional Development
to be offered on-line and also to be
archived to be viewed at a later date. A
robust on-line archive would provide high quality Professional Development to a
wide audience. These offerings would also serve as a marketing tool for attracting
new members.
·Many of the current synchronous
programs are offered during the school day, making it difficult for some school
librarians to attend. Program should be offered before and after the school day
as well.
·Archived/ asynchronous programs are
currently offered at a modestly reduced cost.
·Depending on the immediacy of the
content, archived program shall be available to members at no cost.
Action: The Affiliate Executive Committee did not approve this concern for submission to the Affiliate Assembly body.
