Recruitment to the Profession

Concern: Recruitment of a more diverse workforce is needed needed while moving towards the future of the profession.

Action: The Affiliate Assembly Executive Committee approved the Concern and sent it to the Affiliate Assembly for review. The Assembly chose to combine the concern with the diversity concern from Region 3.

Revised Concern: The need to attract new and dynamic members to the profession and AASL as a professional organization.

Action: The AASL Executive Committee recommended several actions in response to this concern: modification of the AASL recruitment website, updates to Resource Guides, and collaboration with HRDR on posting to LibraryCarrers.org.
