Concern: School librarians need to be viewed and perceived as educators by the educational community and the general public. Currently AASL efforts have not permeated beyond library communities. While promotional materials have been developed from a student viewpoint on the value of a quality school library program, these have not reached the general public through the media or social media.
Action: The Affiliate Executive Committee did not approve this concern for submission to the Affiliate Assembly body.
