Concern: Involving librarians as integral to information literacy culmination such as student-centered Capstone Projects (CP)/Senior Projects may alleviate pressure to remove school librarian positions as non-essential to academic achievement.
Action: Both the Affiliate Assembly Executive Committee and the Affiliate Assembly body approved this concern. It was sent to the AASL Board.
Action: At the ALA 2012 Midwinter Meeting, the AASL Board approved the creation of the Senior Projects/Capstone Projects Task Force charged with creating resources for librarians who work with senior projects.
